From few month I planned to make hairstyling course/training in winter 2013/2014 – to get upgrade my knowledge & skills about bridal hairstyling. Unfortunately in current circumstances I can’t afford it… BUT I will not give up in that point!
If you have seen my portfolio you should already know that I did performed some hairstyling till know…And I am learning pretty fast and easy… but I do believe – I need do practice more to become better & so I could offer better service to my brides & other clients.
From November I got back to my books and favourite channels at YT – and I have started practising more of some Bridal hairstyles with real models, friends etc. However I had feeling that it’s still not enough! Note: Big part of photos would be released about spring/summer time (as we also going to try to send part of that work for spring/summer publishing)…
I have to add that long time ego I had some training head – but I disliked it as he volume of hair end too short hair was unreal to me if compare it with typical human hair…- so I start questioning my self – Should I give a second chance to that tool?!!
After getting advice from few experienced people in industry – I started searching for best training head. From China I could get it cheap however mostly synthetic hair head – but I needed human head so I could use the heat tools on it also. Some UK salon supply stores have in sale good quality heads – But for my budget spending over £100 was the last option…. all cheaper had 18″ hair length, it this is too short for bridal hairstyling (I needed about 24-28″). Finally I have found few models that had about 25″ length and human hairs…and in that point I have recorded another issue what made me unsure of my choice: The volume of hair was totally too big! Let me explain this point: If mannequins have far too thick hair as your typical client hair – so you may not be able to re-do this hairstyle on your client! Ok…so I get back to my searching…
Finally after few weeks I have ordered my head trough ebay – from USA seller! 24″ hair length for total US $70.15 – so it’s about £43 incl. all posting and custom charges and tax!!! I am quite happy with the service and quality. My parcel posted at 9 Dec and delivered at 18th Dec! Definitely am going to get the 30″ hair length from that seller within next few month! My photos – I am happy with the hair volume & texture – I got feeling that this length could be not enough…but some experienced hairstylist told me is close to reality, so should give me good experience and practising.
