Hi guys, I know I was quiet recently – but it’s due busy calendar. Multiple bookings, trips to London, etc….
During last months I tried to upgrade my kit…so this (researches ans searches) also took a lot of my time.
You can read in other post about my new make-up directors chair. After few month of using – I am glad that I got it! I love everything about it – no more back pain after long day.
I started having issues with size of my make-up kit. As Professional Make-up Artist I have to carry different type of products and more often in my work I must carry FULL RANGE of different shades for different skin tones – so my kit’s grown and keeps growing…
In one point packing in back my full kit took longer than unpacking… as everything had to go in specific way…. otherwise case would not close! Packing all become more awkward.
So as you see on photo packing and unpacking become my nightmare. But not any more….
I was very lucky to grab a second-hand (yet in mint condition) a Roobeauty backpack. Sadly this backpack was discontinued few years back – so you will not find it on their website.
I ordered few more pouches, and different sizes from Roo Bauty website to pack all stuff.
It’s amazing how hackable are this pouches! And I totally love the anti-slip rubber like lid!
So here is quickly how it’s looks like now.
It’s a rolling case with hidden backpack straps, a little backpack is detachable – so that’s perfect for most my palettes and ring light – as I can’t imagine to roll it inside my case.
On inside pockets I have – antibacterial stuff, cleaning stuff, mascaras, white pencils, sharpeners, basic set of lashes and dark skin set.
All stacked inside, one of my Nanshy brush tube fits inside, but now often I get both clipped to bag handle.
Only my foundations are in different pouch – perhaps if it will grow to few more shades/types it will move to original Roo Beauty pouch…For now I like to keep it like that. – photos taken before update in my kit, so few new stuff are not shown in here, but soon will post about it.
so from top you see
Lip glosses, lipsticks / Foundations
Pigments only / Gel liners, eyeshadows, cream eyeshadows
Blushes & bronzers , powders, Illamasqua vail / Removers, disposables, etc.
Face, eyes bases, creams, cancellers, aquabrows
small black pouch on side – sfx glues only (for brow blocking, glitter, crystals, applications etc.)
as pouch sides and bottoms are soft, not stiffened (only the Star pouch are stiffened) – I wanted to keep in bay my all goods, I used some plastic disposable trays, food storage containers, and other beauty trays to create layers, and keep all tidy and clean.
I also found solution for lip pencils and liners – I use Real techniques brush holder.
Alo as you see, I prefer to keep use my spatulas, tweezers, small scissors on side in toothbrush holder, no mess around, and its easy to clean. And all fits to side pouch.
in small backpack I carry my ring light, pan eyeshadow palettes, and blush palette.
and thanks to my models – I can now share you photo BTS from my work, current table layout with full BASIC kit when required for different skin tones.
And…Me with my full Creative Kit and Basic Kit!
So you see here – Roo bag – basic kit
Black travel Bag – Crystals, eyeshadows, Blushes
Hair kit
Purple suitcase – full airbrush kit + ring light
+ Depend of location/studio I take my director chair
(I currently purchased new light tripod, and this fits into my roo beauty bag too…)
YES! Sometimes I travel with all this…!
If I know exact plan for all looks on day + creative look, I can limit my stuff that I need to carry with me , but often I have creative shoots where design is not planned fully and we make final decision after having quick brainstorm on begging.
hope you enjoyed this post.
